The Legend Direct Station Selector (DSS) (3156-DSS) is an attendant console accessory designed for compatible MERLIN LEGEND telephone systems. It connects to an MLX-20L or MLX-28D telephone and provides convenient one-touch access to extension numbers, helping receptionists, operators, and administrative personnel manage incoming calls and transfer callers efficiently.
The DSS provides 50 extension positions for direct station selection. Instead of manually dialing an extension number each time a call needs to be transferred, an operator can use the designated DSS button to select the appropriate extension. This arrangement is particularly useful in offices with numerous employees or departments where frequent call transfers are part of daily operations.
Using the Shift key, an operator can access an additional 100 extension numbers, providing a total capacity of 150 extension numbers per DSS module. This expanded selection capability allows a single console accessory to accommodate a larger number of extensions without requiring a separate button for every station.
