The Avaya IP400 Phone 8 V2 provides eight additional POT ports for analog telephone connections. As the V2 version of the Phone 8 expansion module, it incorporates updated power, serial-port and message-waiting indication capabilities while maintaining support for a range of IP Office control units and software releases.

Changes from V1
- The Phone V2 uses an earthed 3-pin 60W external power supply unit.
- With IP Office 3.1, message waiting indication (MWI) on each POT port can be configured for None, On, 51V Stepped, 81V, Line Reversal A or Line Reversal B.
- The On setting uses the default message waiting indication determined by the system locale.
- POT ports on the Phone V2 module can additionally be configured for 101V operation.
- The POT ports do not include a ringing capacitor. Telephones requiring one should be connected through a Master socket containing ringing capacitors.
- The rear DTE serial port uses a 9-pin D-type socket.
These V2 enhancements provide additional configuration flexibility while retaining the module’s primary purpose of adding eight analog telephone connections to a compatible IP Office system.
